FAQs

  • Psychotherapy offers a steady, reliable space to explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and the patterns that shape your life. It can help you make sense of what feels tangled, painful, or hard to name. In therapy, we look at these patterns with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment, creating room to gently explore your experiences and sometimes try on new ways of being in the world.

  • This varies for each person. Some people come to therapy for short-term work on specific issues, while others remain in therapy for many years.

  • My approach to therapy involves committing to attending therapy sessions consistently each week. Meeting at the same time each week provides a stable and reliable framework that supports the therapeutic relationship. This regularity allows deeper patterns, feelings, and unconscious dynamics to emerge and be explored safely. Ad-hoc sessions are unlikely to be effective for the kind of psychotherapy I provide, so this is not something I offer.

  • Fees are £90 per session. For more information on fees please see here

  • I do not currently work with insurers or accept insurance payments.

  • I hold a number of specific low/no cost therapy sessions for people who would otherwise be unable to access long-term psychotherapy. I will update my website when a space for these sessions become available.

  • During the first 1-3 sessions, we will explore your needs, and I will ask you some questions to better understand your history and what is going on for you in the present. We can use this time to discuss any preferences you may have for therapy. These early sessions are an important time to mutually decide if I will be able to offer you the right support for ongoing therapy.

  • Our initial consultation will be a place to discuss whether online or in-person psychotherapy is most appropriate for you.

  • Please find more details about my approach here

  • I offer psychotherapy once or twice weekly, this is something we can discuss further on your initial consultation

  • Sessions are typically 50 minutes, though, occasionally where appropriate 90 minutes.

  • In some cases I can work online with people based outside of the UK. This depends on the country or state you are in, so please discuss this with me if you travel frequently or are touring.

  • I follow enhanced confidentiality practices to ensure privacy. Psychotherapy is confidential, and your information will not be shared with others without your consent, apart from rare circumstances I am required to break confidentiality, for example, if you or someone else was at risk of harm. This is something we will discuss in more detail at our initial consultation.

  • I take privacy seriously and handle your data in line with ICO guidelines. I use appropriate measures to keep your information secure, including enhanced confidentiality and data-handling protocols. Any correspondence or record held are kept in a secure, encrypted database. More specific details are sent in my data privacy notice at the start of psychotherapy.
